Botanical tulips are not difficult to grow and are the only group of tulips which can naturalize if given lots of sun and excellent drainage.

Botanical Tulips frequently listed as "Wild Tulips" or "Species Tulips" are hybrids, but hybrids which remain very close to the original species. These original species are still growing in "the wild", in areas with long cold winters and hot dry summers (Central Asia).
