Tulip Festival

Update February 2nd 2012:

Join us for the 3rd annual Organic Tulip Festival

We expect peak bloom to occur by the 2nd weekend in April however, Mother Nature can be tricky so check our "field report" for updates

EcoTulips is hosting the 3rd annual Organic Tulip Festival and is pleased to announce that DuCard Vineyard will be returning to pour their delectable wines that will pair wonderfully with the mouth watering lunch creations of "Greenies" yummy veggies and "Babes in the Wood's" free range pork.

Brightwood Vineyard and Farm will be opening their organic vegetable farm to visitors to enjoy and learn about organic farming while perusing their wine and fresh produce selection.

How to pick a tulip at the festival: No need to bring scissors but do bring a bucket. Simply grasp the stem as close to the ground as possible and pull straight up. This ensures a long stem. If you pull further up the stem could snap leaving you with a short tulip or worse just the flower. Don't worry if the bulb comes out of the ground with it.  Try not to leave your flowers in the sun for too long especially mid day. Keep them in a bucket of water for the drive home to ensure freshness. Flowers will last up to 14 days!
